Today started out with another morning of work for me. This morning, Brooke took the Emily and Caitlyn to the WB Studio Tour while Lila and Weston stayed at the vacation town home with me.
After I worked for a while, I took those two on a short walk to their favorite place, Trader Joe’s to find Josie the Octopus and get their lollipops. After this I made my way to Footbridge Square to do some more jogging with the double stroller. It was another great run through this tree-lined neighborhood that did not feel it was attached directly to its adjacent neighbors. After Brooke and girls returned we had a quick lunch and then we departed for our day of being tourists.
Our first stop was Universal Studios where we hoped to catch a live taping of Extra. Unfortunately, they were not taping on Thursdays and we were told to try back again on Friday.
We headed back to our car, but not before stopping for drinks and popcorn. We probably set a record for shortest time ever parked in their garage. After this, we headed directly to the Grove, an outdoor mall and our final destination at the American Girl Store and Cafe .
Brooke had booked us at their cafe for an afternoon tea, which was actually quite nice. It included tea, hot chocolate, cinnamon rolls, sandwiches, fruit and dessert.
Weston enjoyed the Hot Chocolate enough to get thirds and we were the last ones to leave the tea as they made sure to eat or take every piece of food they gave us.
We had planned on seeing a move at the Grove as well, but after checking the inflated ticket prices plus concessions, we did not feel that $100 was a good decision to watch Finding Dory. So, we got back into the car and head back home. This was the right call, as Caitlyn and Lila both fell asleep on the way back, and Brooke was asleep by 730 just after we returned home. We were a tired bunch for sure and we want to make sure that we don’t run down on this trip.
This is day 17 on our California Road Trip Summer 2016. Make sure to check out the entire trip!
