One of the best finds we have ever come across for our travels with four young kids is the MOSI (Museum of Science and Industry in Tampa, FL) Annual Membership and the Reciprocal Passes that come along with it. We not only visit MOSI itself from time to time (which has a great kids science center called Kids in Charge), but we frequently use the local MOSI reciprocals that rotate on a monthly basis. Brooke and I have used the reciprocal to visit museums by ourselves like the Florida Holocaust Museum and the Bok Tower Gardens. But, we mostly use it with the kids to visit family friendly places like the St Pete Children’s Museum, Marie Selby Gardens in Sarasota or Lowry Park Zoo.
The reciprocals work locally at specific places either year round or monthly. While traveling, we mainly utilize the free standard admission into any of the over 250 members of the Association of Science and Technology Centers.
On our California Road Trip in Summer 2016, we used it at 4 different places, saving $375 just on that trip.
- Discovery Science Center in Sausalito, CA on 6/23/2016
- Kidspace, A Children’s Museum in Pasadena, CA on 07/06/2016
- theNat (The Natural History Museum) in San Diego, CA on 07/12/2016
- Ruben Fleet Science Center in San Diego, CA on 07/13/2016
Here are times we used the reciprocal pass on other trips:
